Trade guilds

At the end of the eighteenth century, the guilds were abolished and their patrimony was dispersed. As a result of a very active purchasing policy, the museum collection grew rapidly, particularly between 1860 and 1890. After that the pieces were harder to come by, but guilds have remained a subject of special interest, so much so in fact that it would be impossible to imagine the STAM collection without them!
