• Fully accessible for wheelchair-users
  Please note: due to technical problems with one of our lifts, you can temporarily reach our Abbey refectory by stairs only. The rest of the museum remains accessible - with a short diversions - for those with difficulty walking or requiring a wheelchair.
• STAM has 2 wheelchairs: for reservation mail to info@stamgent.be
• Parking spot for wheelchair-users: Godshuizenlaan

Public transport

• Train: Station Gent-Sint-Pieters (1 km = 13' on foot)
• Tram: 1, 3 or 4 [stop Gent Bijlokehof]
• Bus: P4 [stop Gent Verdedigingstraat], 5 [stop Gent Blandijnberg], 9 [stop Gent Albertbrug] or 19 [stop Gent Koning Albertbrug]

By car

• STAM is situated next to the R40 and is to be reached easily
• E17/E40 > exit 'Gent-Centrum' > exit 'Alle Richtingen'
• Attention! Ghent features a low emission zone (LEZ). The most polluting vehicles are no longer allowed to enter the city centre (the area enclosed by the ring road). Find out all about Ghent LEZ here.

• There are no parking facilities at the Bijlokesite
• It is possbile to park in the streets that surround the Bijlokesite: tarifs zone orange
• Parking Sint-Pietersplein (900 m = 11' on foot)
• P+R The Loop / Expo: Park & Ride + Tram 1

Please note: roadworks are taking place near the Bijloke site until February 2026 and you can expect traffic disruption around the site.
(The Sint-Pietersplein car park is within walking distance.)
