Library

The STAM library is housed in the Kunstenbibliotheek (Arts Library), which opened in September 2017 next to the STAM on the Bijloke site. The Kunstenbibliotheek brings together the book and periodical collections of the STAM, Design Museum Ghent, S.M.A.K., KASK, HISK, and the Ghent Guides under one roof.

Specialising in the visual arts, with a focus on contemporary art, design, Ghent, and urban studies, the collection comprises more than 100,000 exhibition catalogues, monographs, and reference works on art history, art theory, philosophy, drama, performance, film, photography, architecture, and landscape architecture. It also includes an exceptional collection of artists’ books, which can be consulted by appointment.
