STAM Late? First Thursday of every month!
When visiting the city of Ghent, a little trip to the Ghent City Museum is a real must! Discover what the city has to offer and submerge yourself into the city’s fascinating past and present. The nocturne of the museum is the ideal opportunity to combine your visit with a night out or an evening stroll through the city, grabbing a bite on-the-go…without having to hurry.
On August 5th, STAM stays open until 10 p.m. so you don't have to choose, you can combine it all for a unique and unforgettable day! Come and enjoy ‘The Story of Ghent’ and treat yourself at STAMcafé.
Feel free to touch! A fun children’s trail that leads through every room in the museum. Children become merchants, craftspeople, architects or city trippers and participate in city life. They sell cloth, make coats of arms, face façades and work out routes.
For centuries, the way into the city was through gigantic gates. Gates on the edge of the city, but at the centre of this exhibition. Gates that have long gone and been replaced by dynamic, colourful districts.
STAM turned ten last year... time for a make-over for the permanent exhibition! Since the end of 2020 you can stroll through the new Story of Ghent.
